Soldeerbout Zink
Zink solderen is een kunst van loodgieters en dakdekkers. Toch kan ook de gewone man deze tak van sport leren en evenaren, mits je het juiste gereedschap gebruikt. Daar schort het vaak aan.
Je hebt een goede soldeerbout nodig (liefst op een gasfles gemonteerd) en de bout mag zeker niet te heet worden en niet te koud blijven. Bij een te koude soldeerbout gaat het soldeer stropen. Bij een te hete bout brandt men juist een gat in een zinken plaat. Dus de juiste smelttemperatuur is van belang.
Zink solderen gaat het beste met een een staaf soldeer en een grote soldeerbout. Neem als staaf soldeer een 50/50 legering tin/lood. Uiteraard het zink eerst goed schoonmaken ( totdat het glimt). Zeker als het om een oude goot gaat. Die moet opgeschuurd worden, anders hecht het soldeer niet en krijgt men straks lekkages.
Vervolgens de plaats insmeren met soldeer vloeistof (speciaal voor zink). Dan de soldeerbout erop houden en gelijdelijk aan het soldeer toevoegen.
Zorg dat het goed kan vloeien. Met name het omhoog solderen kan lastig zijn.
Dit lukt pas na enige oefening. Zorg dat je niet het oude zink kapot stookt met het solderen. Het oude zink is zwakker en zal dus eerder kapot gaan.
